In 1916 Cary W. Hartman established the Alameda County Beekeepers’ Association, beginning almost 100 years of beekeeping service in the Bay Area.

Today, the ACBA represents beekeepers, beekeeping, and apiculture interestes for nearly 1.5 million people throughout Alameda County in California and serves as an educational institution for beekeeping and bay area urban and rural ecology.
